Template:EnemyboxScoutbots were used commonly throughout the Solana Galaxy presumably as a cheap security force, and in-game were often used as support for much stronger enemies such as Blarg soldiers and Troopers. Scoutbots attacked by hovering up to enemies and attempting to electrocute them. There was a large delay however, which was long enough for some enemies to have time to easily dispatch them. They often appeared in large groups and occasionally with a respawning device nearby.

Upgraded

A more powerful upgrade to the Scoutbot named the Shockbot appeared in Up Your Arsenal under the command of Nefarious. They had three times the fire power of the original Scoutbot model.

History

Ratchet & Clank

In Ratchet & Clank (2002 game), the Scoutbots first appeared on planet Batalia, where they worked for Drek. They also appeared on a few other planets such as Oltanis.

In Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal, the Scoutbots returned. This time, they were working for Nefarious and appeared on Planet Daxx, the Obani Moons, Obani Draco and at the Leviathan Crash Site.

Scoutbots were also used during Nefarious' attack on the Starship Phoenix.

Multiplayer

Scoutbots also make appearances in any siege mode game in the multiplayer of Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal, being much stronger and formidable enemies. They were actually fairly useful in killing off any "Rushers" (people who Chargeboot to the base to deal as much damage as they can before they die) or just in a plain attack. They looked similar to the MegaCorp Sweeper Bots. In Up Your Arsenal's instruction manual they are called Shockbots. Moreover, they did not attack with their hands but, instead with their eye.

Trivia

  • Before attacking, scoutbots in the original game made a certain sound like talking. The same sound can be heard in the third game but when these robots did not attack Ratchet, much like having a conversation.
