The Scorcher can be purchased upon reaching planet Kalidon for 20,000 bolts. Two mods can be purchased for the weapon: the spitfire mod for 15,000 bolts which enables it to shoot a fireball after releasing the trigger, and the sunflare mod that increases the size of the flame the longer it is used for for 200,000 bolts. It can be upgraded to the Incinerator with use. In challenge mode, the Titan Incinerator can be purchased.
The Scorcher is made of pieces of a space cruiser, and has a long nozzle from which the flame is fired.
The Incinerator takes the plasma exhaust look from the Scorcher and feeds it directly back through the intake manifold to produce a highly concentrated flame jet stream. It barely resembles the Scorcher.
The Scorcher has short to medium range and decent damage. This makes it very effective at defeating smaller enemies in closer range, but also useful against medium to large enemies when the player does not need to keep their distance. It is ineffective against flying and longer range enemies, but otherwise useful against most foes.
The Incinerator fires larger and more intense heat than the Scorcher. Two mods can be purchased for the weapon: the spitfire mod for 15,000 bolts and the sunflare mod for 200,000. The spitfire mod allows it to shoot a fireball after releasing the trigger. The sunflare mod allows the flame to grow in size the longer it is used. Both mods allow the weapon to become more broadly useful against longer range enemies, though still outclassed by other weapons in this regard.
Using the Fire-Bomb armor powers up the weapon.
