These are challenges available to the contestants of DreadZone in a Valix Lighthouse Network on the Valix Belt in Deadlocked. This planet and its challenges come directly after the Crusader Tournament, and will provide the necessary Dread Points and |orange medal for the Vindicator Tournament. The DreadZone vendor will only have the Brainwash Mod available, which has a chance to make affected enemies turn on one another.

Challenges[]

Lost and Found[]

The Brainwash Mod can likely be purchased after the following challenges, although its usefulness is rather limited (enemies deal far less damage to each other than to you). Other than that, the opening challenge is simple; the goal is to reach the parked hovership on the other side of the battlecourse. The map consists of large separate asteroid pieces, which can be connected by either bridges, floating platforms, or Grind Cable segments. On the way to the node at the end, which unlocks the hovership's hangar bay, you will be attacked by DZ Vipers, Claw Tooth Swarmer, dropships, Executionera, and Cycloids. None of these enemies should pose a real challenge other than their numbers.

Space Ace[]

"Space Ace" is one of the few hovership challenges, with the objective being to destroy all twelve enemy groups. Each group is on a separate section of land, and generally consists of one Executioner supported by three to four Vipers. The Hovership can easily fly in circles around them while charging the missile launchers and taking potshots. The only other enemy around the map are groups of Pincer Rays.

Power Up![]

"Power Up!" is similar to the first challenge, featuring identical enemies (except the Cycloids), and a similar path, with the main difference being the requirement to hack all orbs along the way. The only real threats are the pair of Viper-manned turrets halfway through, the Executioner and Viper ambush from behind after entering the final building, and the Executioners and dropships holding off the final platform with the finish zone.

Let the Light Shine Through[]

The last campaign challenge is similar to the others; you must reach the end of the linear path while taking care to not die to the enemies. Said enemies are the same as before, including the Cycloids again. Take care not to fall down after using the Swingshot to get down from the top of the lighthouse, after which you can continue to head along the path. Be careful not to get caught unawares by the groups of Cycloid behind and inside the target building.

Completion of "Let the Light Shine Through" rewards the player character with an orange medal, with which they have half of what they need to attempt the Vindicator Tournament, after collecting enough Dread Points by completing Dread Challenges.

Dread Challenges[]

Time Extension![]

This challenge features the hovership and checkpoint-based timed race mechanic again, much like those encountered earlier with the hoverbike. The dropship is plenty fast enough to finish the race with time to spare (a little over thirty seconds), provided you ignore the Executioners, Vipers, and Pincer Rays, which spawn in the same place as during "Space Ace".

Your Land is my Land[]

"Your Land is my Land" covers the identical path already traversed in "Power Up!", except this time you must capture three bolt crank nodes. The first is the building before which you start, the second in the center of the bridge between the first and second buildings, and the third inside the aforementioned second structure. The only enemies encountered are Vipers and Executioners, although the latter do so in greater numbers. Simply slow them down with the Freeze Mod while relying on your combat bots to capture the nodes.
