New Quartu, sometimes referred to as Drek's planet, was an entirely new planet created by Drek in an attempt to provide a world for his species, which he did by stealing parts of other planets. In the game it was seen only in the cutscenes and from the surface of other planets but was not a playable site. At the end, Drek's planet was destroyed.

In the beginning events of Ratchet & Clank, the Blarg homeworld Orxon had become so polluted and overpopulated that it was unsuitable for organic life. Drek, the Blargian leader, decided to create a clean new planet for his people so that they could finally leave the encroaching mess on Orxon. However, unknown to his race, Drek had planned on creating this new planet in order to simply pollute it as well as it was being populated, just as he had done to Orxon. He did this to get rich as he was being payed for every square inch of the planet. It is not known who this payer was, although it may have merely been numerous landowners as "Prime locations were filling up fast." This would force the Blarg to relocate to another world, restarting the whole scheme. Coordinating all of his actions from his flagship, Drek ordered that the choicest planetary components of other planets be extracted and added on to his new planet, uncaring for the consequences that would result - he calmly explained to the citizens of Novalis that the sudden change in mass of their planet would cause it to spin off into the sun and explode into a flaming ball of gas, but then added that "sacrifices must be made."

Drek added new planetary fragments for his planet while destroying those worlds that dared to get in his way. He collected these fragments through the use of a massive space extractor that was three times the size of a typical planet, judging by the blueprints he presented in the early stages of Ratchet & Clank.

Later, at planet Hoven's Bomb Factory, Drek announced that his scientists had found the perfect orbit for his new planet - allowing for constant good weather - but because it was already occupied, he organized the creation of the PlanetBuster Maximus, which was used to destroy the obstacle planet. However, Ratchet and Clank managed to destroy the PlanetBuster while it was being transported offworld. Nevertheless, Drek then created the Deplanetizer, which he placed on the Kyzil Plateau of planet Veldin, the planet he wanted to destroy - Ratchet's homeworld. Angered, the Lombax and his Robot sidekick caught and defeated Drek on the Deplanetizer and used the latter to destroy the new Blarg planet. The planet's remnants rained across Veldin's surface, signaling Drek's defeat.

With the destruction of their new homeworld, the Blarg were forced to either stay on Orxon or move to other worlds - their fate was not revealed in any of the later games.
