The Insomniac Museum is a special location in Ratchet and Clank (2016), accessible after the player has beaten the game.
After completing the game and starting Challenge Mode, one could access the museum via a teleporter in Grimroth Razz's garage on planet Veldin. The 2016 incarnation of the museum is quite different from past ones, being smaller and just featuring posters, statues, etc. from past games rather than ideas cut from the game, additionally, there is no background music and nothing is interactable with, but players are allowed to take screenshots using the 'SHARE' button and share them to the Playstation Network.
The Insomniac Museum is made up of one hub area and 6 hangars in a garage-style environment, entrances to these hangers are either open or closed depending on the number of Gold Bolts that have been acquired, although the hub area and first hangar will be unlocked simply by completing the game.
The first hangar (the closest hangar to the left of the entrance) features cutscenes from the game, which can be rewatched, as well as three bonus videos: two Japanese commercials for Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando and a commercial for Ratchet & Clank (PS4). This and the rest of the hangars are filled with items and concept art from previous games. At the end of the main hangar, computer terminals can be seen showing images from the original Ratchet & Clank (2002 game).
- While the player is in the Insomniac Museum, the Plasma Striker will have its zoomed-in reticle temporarily removed, this is done on purpose to allow players to zoom in on things to take better screenshots, similar in function to a camera.
