Gleeman Vox, DL

Gleeman Vox, also known as Mr. Vox[1] or simply Vox, was a Slademan, and the founder and owner of Vox Industries, the Vox Network and several other business ventures within the lawless Shadow Sector.

One of his most notable achievements was DreadZone, (being its leader, president and producer all in one) an illegal combat sport that pitted heroes across the universe against one another for adoration of trillions of fans.[2]

Cold, sadistic and obsessed with earning bolts and high ratings; the only other thing he cared about was his pet, Slugha, whom copied Vox's personality traits.

Biography

Early life and history

Interesting fact folks, DreadZone started out with two guys fighting over a Breakfast Burrito, and the rest is history!

Dallas Wanamaker on DreadZone's creation., DL
File:Gleeman-vox-le-chef-de-dreadzone.jpg

Years ago, Gleeman Vox had made his fortune in several business ventures he found in the Shadow Sector, such as Vox Industries, the Vox Network, Vox Pharmaceuticals and Vox Airways.

Two events would later inspire him to create a new holovision show: one involved him witnessing two guys fighting over a Breakfast Burrito and the other seeing intergalactic superheroes on holovision one morning, which caused him to ponder about creating an illegal combat sport in which intergalactic superheroes were kidnapped and forced to battle one another. A few phone calls later, DreadZone was born and grew into an intergalactic sensation.[2] By the year 5351,[3][4] DreadZone was up and running with DreadZone Battlecourses set up across the Shadow Sector, the DreadZone Station completed and Vox's personal army spacenapping superheroes across the universe. Gleeman Vox later appointed Ace Hardlight (its not known whether Hardlight had entered into DreadZone under his own free will or not) as leader of the Exterminators as he became the number one contestant on DreadZone, as well as breeding, training, and grooming the Eviscerator for stardom as an Exterminator as well. As the years went by, DreadZone earned 6,000,000,000,000 fans across four galaxies, including the Solana Galaxy, the Bogon Galaxy and the Polaris Galaxy, which funneled in billions of bolts to Vox as well as high ratings.

Throughout his rise to power, he was accompanied by his loyal pet Slugha, who was the only living thing he truly cared for.

Gleeman Vox was also known to have a family.

Courtney Gears

Ever the altruistic philanthropist, Mr. Vox personally oversaw the careful reconstruction and rehabilitation of Ms. Gears by his own team of specialist robotic surgeons. In exchange, Mr. Vox has merely asked that Courtney Gears sign over all past and future rights to her music, her image, her name, her likeness, and her personal collection of Secret Agent Clank memorabilia. Quite a deal if you ask me.

Following Courtney Gear's confrontation with Ratchet on Obani Draco during Nefarious reign of terror throughout the Solana Galaxy, the badly damaged Courtney Gears nearly perished had Gleeman Vox not have intervened on her behalf. Under his close supervision, Mr. Vox monitored her reconstruction closely while his specialized robotic surgeon team rebuilt her. Thanks to Mr. Vox's support, Courtney Gears made a remarkable recovery, which both The 'Zone and Vox News covered. In return funding her recovery, Mr. Vox asked for Courtney Gears to merely "sign over all past and future rights to her music, her image, her name, her likeness, and her personal collection of Secret Agent Clank memorabilia" to him, which Dallas Wanamaker thought was quite a bargain.[1]

Kidnapping of Subject 209 (a.k.a. Ratchet)

We've captured Subject 209, Mr. Vox.

Executioner., DL

Excellent, bring him in.

"Gleeman Vox, he operates an underground media empire within the Shadow Sector."

Seeing yet another hero to add to his long list of DreadZone contestants, Gleeman Vox ordered his troops to set up a distress beacon in Quadrant J0713 to capture famed galactic hero Ratchet. Naturally, Ratchet took the bait when the Starship Phoenix entered the quadrant, where it was promptly ambushed by an Interplanetary Transport carrying Vox's forces.

Meanwhile, at the DreadZone Station, in a tower overlooking the Battledome, Gleeman Vox watched the action occurring in the Battledome with his pet, Slugha. Vox's viewing of DreadZone was interrupted by an Executioner in charge of the raid, who informed Vox they had successfully captured Ratchet. Gleeman Vox was greatly pleased by the news while he rubbed his pet's chin affectionally. The Executioner informed Vox that they had also captured two strays in the process of spacenapping Ratchet, and asked Vox whether they should be executed or not, causing Slugha to shake her head up and down in approval of the Executioner's suggestion. Vox; however, disagreed, instructing the Executioner to put Deadlock Collars on the strays and see if they could …"get some work out them first."[5]

Meeting Ratchet

Greetings hero, and welcome to DreadZone!

Gleeman Vox to Ratchet., DL

While Ratchet was completing the Qualification Course, Gleeman Vox appeared to "welcome" him to DreadZone. He assured Ratchet no one would come to rescue or that he himself wouldn't be able to escape. Vox then informed Ratchet that he was now a celebrity gladiator on the greatest holovision show the galaxy had ever known, battling for screaming fans across the Shadow Sector and beyond. Vox claimed Ratchet would likely be dead by tomorrow, but if he fought well and managed to survive, he would earn his freedom. Vox sarcastically wished Ratchet luck at the task that lie ahead, claiming they'd be watching him, laughing manically before his screen vanished.[5]

Deadlocked Collars

Well, there you have it. Nothing to lose your head over, right?

Gleeman Vox discussing the functions of the Deadlock Collars., DL

After completing the Qualification Course, Vox returned via a floating screen to go over the Deadlock Collar's function. With much fanfare, Vox warned Ratchet against going into any restricted area or he would be shocked, which he demonstrated by shocking a nearby test-bot who was wearing a Deadlocked Collar. Vox also warned Ratchet that if he ever failed to cooperate or worse "boring," his Deadlocked Collar would be detonated, which he demonstrated by blowing the head another Test-Bot. Vox claimed "it was nothing to lose your head over, right?" before his floating screen vanished yet again.[5]

Battledome

Alright fresh meat, enough chit chat. You're next up in the Battledome, after "Mobius Man." And from the way he's fighting it won't be much longer. Now move it!

Gleeman Vox informing Ratchet that he's up next in the Battledome., DL

Gleeman Vox later reappeared via a screen in the Containment Suite (at a particular bad time, since Ratchet was calling Vox a cheapskate while he was talking to Clank). Vox told Ratchet to knock off the chit chat, as it was his turn next in the Battledome, just after the current contestant Mobius Man, though Vox revealed it wouldn't be long, since the way he was fighting against the Eviscerator didn't seem to keep him alive much longer. Vox then told him to get moving and then vanished from the screen. Mere seconds later, Vox informed Ratchet via loudspeaker that a Vox Airways' Battledome Shuttle had arrived to take Ratchet to the Battledome, and warned Ratchet to either get in at once or be terminated.[5]

Time to blow ——— up!

Will you lose your lunch if you have to watch one more reality dating show? Is your Blargs Gone Wild video scratched from overuse? Then it's time to turn that dial to something a little more… dangerous! Time for some real action! It's time to blow ——— up! That's right! It's time for DreadZone, the Galaxy's number one uncensored, unethical, and completely underground combat sport, blasting straight at you, live, from the Battledome![6]

Gleeman Vox, in a commercial for DreadZone, DL

Gleeman Vox later appeared in a commercial for DreadZone around the time Ratchet was heading toward the Battledome. The commercial showed a reality dating featuring two Tyhrranoids getting married. Vox appeared and cut the show off, asking those viewing whether they were sick and tired of watching reality dating after reality dating show. Vox then grabbed a copy of Blargs Gone Wild, asking whether viewers had watched their copies of Blargs Gone Wild so often, that they were scratched. Vox then claimed it was time to turn that dial toward something dangerous, where one could get some real action. Vox then jumped atop his table and screamed it was time to "blow ——— up." Vox exclaimed it was time for DreadZone, the galaxy's number one uncensored, unethical and completely underground combat sport. Vox then informed viewers that on Pay-per-View, Ratchet was going to be up against Ace Hardlight and the Exterminators, insisting that while Ratchet had saved the galaxy three times over, asked viewers how long would he survive on DreadZone. Vox then ended the commercial by telling viewers to catch the action live on the Vox Network.

Vox Has a Hissy

Ace Hardlight is the perfectly manufactored celebrity, straight from the presses of the Gleeman Vox Media Empire. So tell me, why is it that I can't GIVE THIS STUFF AWAY!‽?

Gleeman Vox, DL

Well, uh…

Don't answer that, let me take a wild guess. It's because my fans CAN'T STAND ACE HARDLIGHT! He's a pompous **** with the charisma of Blargian Gnat cheese![7]

Gleeman Vox confronts Ace Hardlight about abysmal sales of Ace Hardlight mercandise

As Ratchet completed the Qualification Round, Ace Hardlight was called to meet Vox in his personal quarters. Ace told him to make it quick, causing Vox to apologize for disrupting Ace's busy social life, and insisted he had only one question to ask. Vox asked Hardlight if he would like to buy an Ace Hardlight video game, Ace Hardlight lunchbox, Ace Hardlight action figure, Ace Hardlight movie rights, Ace Hardlight card etc., with Hardlight nodding his head in agreement. Vox proclaimed that Hardlight was the perfectly manufactored celebrity of the Gleeman Vox Media Empire. Vox then asked Hardlight, why he couldn't give this Ace Hardlight memorabillia away, much less sell it for a profit. A stunned Hardlight attempted to answer the question, but Vox told Ace not to reply anyway, as Vox wanted to take a "wild" guess. Vox then violently exclaimed it was because DreadZone fans couldn't stand Hardlight. Vox claimed Hardlight was a pompous *****and had the charisma like that of a Blargian Gnat cheese. Hardlight attempted to understand what Vox was saying, but Vox told him to shut up, exclaiming the little Billys and Susies of the world were spending a trillion bolts a day on worthless garbage, and Vox was cut out the market. Vox then grabbed Ace by his hair and warned him to start selling this junk soon, or he would fine someone who will. Vox then released Hardlight, and told him to get out Vox' sight.[5]

Shellshock Defeated

It seems like we underestimated our Lombax friend.

Gleeman Vox, DL

He got lucky. Shellshock was too old and too stupid to be an Exterminator, he should've been retired years ago.

Well he's "retired" now.

Gleeman Vox, DL

Gleeman Vox, Slugha and Ace Hardlight watched Ratchet's progress battling Shellshock in Dark City, planet Kronos. Much to everyone's surprise, Ratchet managed to slay Shellshock within the walls of the Dark Cathedral of Kronos. DreadZone fans across the universe began to cheer for DreadZone's newest contestant. Vox; however, wasn't pleased, as he had lost six billion bolts of hardware (i.e. Shellshock), yet fans were celebrating like they …"won the freak'n lottery!" Vox then rhetorically asked why he put up with such idiots, with Ace replying who else would watch Vox News, Temptation Asteroid, Galaxy's Funniest Decapitations and Queer Eye for the Tyhrranoid. Vox managed to calm down, stating they underestimated Ratchet, causing Slugha to shake her head in agreement. Hardlight; however, claimed Ratchet was merely lucky, as Shellshock should have been retired from the Exterminators years ago because of his age and overall stupidity. Vox insisted it made no difference, because Shellshock was "retired" now. Vox also suggested that Ratchet …"might be useful." claiming Ratchet was more popular then Ace during his heroic youth, in fact, Ratchet kinda reminded Vox of Hardlight. Hardlight flipped out, slamming his fists into Vox's table and insisting Ratchet got lucky, and his luck wouldn't last forever, which ended Vox's and Hardlight's conversation.[5]

Falling Sales

Umm, sir? We have the latest sales figures

Test-Bot, DL

Yeah whats the bottom line?

Gleeman Vox, DL

Umm…nobody is buying the new Ace Hardlight merchandise. In fact, sales are down across the board except for, Fuzzy Lombax ears.

Test-Bot, DL

We sell those‽

Gleeman Vox, DL

Uh yes, sir. They are an accessory of the Tiny Tots Assault Weapons Kit.

Test-Bot, DL

Later on, Vox was watching a DreadZone commercial in which three children showed off their "superpowers" by wearing pajamas. Vox was laughing really hard at one child attempt at flying, resulting in said child slamming into the ground instead. However, Vox' enjoyment was interrupted by a call from a Test-Bot, who wanted to inform Vox about the latest sales figures. Vox asked what the bottom line was, and the Test-Bot informed Vox that no one was buying the new Ace Hardlight merchandise. In fact, all sales across the board were down except for Fuzzy Lombax Ears, the Test-Bot insisted. Vox was greatly surprised, since he wasn't aware that Vox Industries even sold such products, but the Test-Bot insisted they were an accessory for the Tiny Tots Assault Weapons Kit. Vox grew very angry, and insisting that the Test-Bot had made an .."idiotic mistake!" and ordered the Test-Bot to report to B Level for disintegration. The Test-Bot glumly was about carry out his task when Vox changed his mind, much to the surprise of the Test-Bot. Vox ordered the Test-Bot to go to the Lab before he reported to B Level and tell those working there to set up a focus test to find out why Ace Hardlight merchandise wasn't selling. With great sadness, the Test-Bot replied he would complete Vox's task as soon as possible, and the robot ended the transmission.[5]

Ace Sucks

Subject 135, choose one of the following items. A Courtney Gears Musical Lunchbox, a Secret Agent Clank Bobble Head, or this super cool Ace Hardlight Action Figure with Kung-Fu grip!

Gleeman Vox to Subject 135., DL

Later on, Gleeman Vox traveled to the Ghost Station to monitor the test subjects reactions to Ace Hardlight merchandise via the Lab's Speaker. When Subject 135 entered, Vox showed him three possible toys: a Courtney Gears Musical Lunchbox, a Secret Agent Clank Bobble Head or a …"super cool Ace Hardlight Action Figure with Kung-Fu grip!" Much to his dismay, Subject 135 chose the Secret Agent Clank Bobble Causing, resulting in Vox zapping Subject 135 for failing to pick the "right toy." Subject 135 was promptly rushed out the room as Subject 136 arrived. Before Vox could go over the choices, Subject 136 screamed in delight, having seen the Courtney Gears Musical Lunchbox. Vox zapped her too, and she was sent out the room as Subject 137 arrived. Vox removed the Secret Agent Clank Bobble Head and the Courtney Gears Musical Lunchbox, and attempted to prod the child into wanting the Ace Hardlight Action Figure, claiming all the cool kids played with it. Subject 137 claimed he would take it, but also claimed Ace Hardlight was a tool, causing Vox to ask who's action figure would you like to have. Subject 137 wasn't sure at first, but then exclaimed "that Lombax guy" who smoked Reactor, causing Vox to zap him. Subject 137 was promptly removed from the lab, as Subject 138 was sent in, which was followed by many more children.[5]

Team Darkstar's Escape

This shouldn't have happened, this is all my fault.

No Ratchet, Ace Hardlight did this, and Gleeman Vox gave the order.

Clank, DL

They made a mistake bringing us here Clank, now they're going to pay for it.

Exactly.

Clank, DL
File:Ace busts Al scene.jpg

Ace Hardlight takes out Big Al under Vox's orders

Gleeman Vox soon became aware that Team Darkstar was attempting to escape the DreadZone Station by deactivating their Deadlocked Collars. Not wanting to lose his contestant, Vox dispatched Ace Hardlight to foil their plans. Ace Hardlight was easily able to get the drop on them, which resulted in Big Al being shot, Ratchet receiving a massive volt from his Deadlocked Collar, and Clank being forced to put his Deadlocked Collar back on. After Hardlight had prevented their escape, an Ambulance Ship arrived to take care of a dying Big Al. Team Darkstar were forced to continue their servitude as DreadZone gladiators, but Ratchet and Clank swore they would make Vox and Hardlight pay for their crimes.[5]

Stygia

Planet Stygia, it's a world ravaged by continual meteor storms. Why if not for Stygia's powerful defense shields, the entire planet would be decimated in a matter of hours! But someone dismantled the shield's power supply! Who would do such a horrible thing to the poor people of Stygia? I don't know, but it sure makes for good reality HV. He he he. Stay tuned for the hottest episode of DreadZone yet. And if you live on Stygia, the last one! Ha ha ha!!!

Gleeman Vox., DL

Following Ace Hardlight actions that prevented Team Darkstar from escaping the DreadZone Station, Vox sent Team Darkstar to yet another DreadZone Battlecourse. Vox then addressed DreadZone fans across the galaxy via a DreadZone commercial that tonight's episode was very special. Vox then described planet Stygia, a world in the Shadow Sector that was constantly ravaged by meteor storms that could easily pummel the planet to smithereens if the planet wasn't defended by powerful shields created by the Tempus Control Station. Vox then informed fans that someone (Gleeman Vox) had dismantled the shields power supply, exclaiming who would do such as horrible thing to the poor people of Stygia. It was around this time, Vox's pet Sluga was hopping around on Vox's desk, whom Vox grabbed during his speech. Vox then carelessly threw Slugha into the TV screen behind him, while he claimed he didn't "know" who was responsible for these horrible crimes, but he claimed it sure …"makes for good reality HV, causing Vox to chuckle. Vox then told DreadZone fans to stay tuned for one of the hottest episodes of DreadZone, while informing fans of DreadZone on Stygia that it would be their last.[5]

Luckily for the people of Stygia, Team Darkstar was able to reactivate the Tempus Control Station before Stygia was turned into rubble, saving thousands if not more from a horrible fate.

Ratchet: The Exterminator

I'm about to give you the opportunity of a thousand lifetimes! I'm making you the new captain of the Exterminators! The star of the show! Think of it, we'll make billions!

"You're not just corrupt. You're stupid."

It was only a matter of time before Ace Hardlight and Ratchet would dual in the Battledome. Much to surprise of many, Ace Hardlight was defeated by Ratchet. No sooner had he won, to DZ Strikers arrived to carry him off toward's Vox's quarters. Upon arriving in Vox's office, Ratchet inquired why Vox had wanted to see him. Vox exclaimed that Ratchet was now the grand champion of DreadZone, claiming the whole galaxy wanted to see the gladiator that had bested Ace Hardlight. Vox insisted his actions were responsible for Ratchet's rise to fame and transforming him from a …"worthless nobody, into the hottest celebrity in the galaxy!" Ratchet was quite shocked at Vox's remarks, as he argued that Vox's "News Shows" slandered him every six seconds. Vox claimed those reports were designed to build up Ratchet's "bad boy" image, remarking "And this is thanks I get." Ratchet grew very annoyed by Vox's lies and weak justifications, causing Vox to tell Ratchet to stop acting like a baby. Vox then exclaimed he was about to offer Ratchet the opportunity of a lifetime. Vox planned to put Ratchet in charge of a new team of Exterminators, making Ratchet the star of DreadZone. Vox claimed both he and Ratchet could make billions buy selling Ratchet merchandise. Vox insisted that Ratchet would also get record deals, movie rights, reality shows, video game and loads of commercials.[5]

Vox grew quite breathless from all the excitement over the loads of potential bolts he could make, but much to his surprise, Ratchet declined. Vox couldn't believe what Ratchet was saying, causing Ratchet to respond that he wasn't Vox's puppet and wouldn't kill other heroes for bolts and fame. Ratchet then insisted that Vox wasn't only corrupt, but borderline stupid. Vox stuttered in anger as he attempt to insult Ratchet, before simply exclaiming Ratchet had signed his own death warrant. Ratchet then asked if he was done here, causing Vox to order his two DZ Strikers to return Ratchet to his Containment Area.[5]

Realizing his plans of great fortune had been foiled, Vox immediately decided to plan Ratchet's demise. He immediately called a DreadZone Test-Bot, insisting they would need one final DreadZone Battlecourse. He demanded they prepare the experimental DreadZone Battlecourse known as Gauntlet of Doom (Ghost Station) for Ratchet, shocking Slugha and causing the DreadZone Test-Bot to remark the course was mathematically unbeatable. Vox dismissed the DreadZone Test-Bot, and the robot immediately replied back that he would have DreadZone personal prepare the station, causing Vox to grin as he foresaw Ratchet's death.[5]

Ace Hardlight was later disposed of by Gleeman Vox, and later ended up behind bars of the infamous Zordoom Prison of planet Viceron. Vox later made a public address on Vox News to discuss Hardlight's "death." Vox claimed he shared their empathy for the loss of Ace Hardlight, and encouraged DreadZone fans to express their sympathy for Ace by purchasing Ace Hardlight Memorial Actions, which were on sale for only 299 bolts.[5]

Control Level

Well, well, well! What do we we have here DreadZone fans? A contestant attempting to sabotage the Battledome! How exciting!

Gleeman Vox, DL
File:Gleeman Vox Self-destruct.jpg

Gleeman Vox telling Ratchet about the self-destruct countdown he activated

Following Ratchet's completion of the Ghost Station (which was later destroyed by Ratchet), it became apparent to Vox that DreadZone was about to end, Ratchet and Team Darkstar would soon attempt to reach the Control Level of the Battledome to release the other heroes. Vox decided if his show must end, it should go out with a bang, literally. Vox quickly got his forces to set up six gigatons of nitroglycerin within the Battledome, enough firepower to blow away not just the Battledome, but also the entire DreadZone Station. Vox and his pet, Slugha traveled to a remote location far away from the DreadZone Station, where they patiently waited for Ratchet to break into the Control Level.[5]

It wasn't long before a hacked Battledome Shuttle entered the Control Level, carrying Ratchet, Merc and Green. Vox was soon aware they had arrived, a dozen of DreadZone Cameras were able to pinpoint Team Darkstar's location, catching Team Darkstar by surprise. A screen appeared before Ratchet and the DreadZone Cameras, and live feed of Gleeman Vox appeared before the screen. Vox announced to DreadZone fans that Ratchet was attempting to sabotage the Battledome explosion, which Vox exclaimed was quite exciting. If Ratchet succeeded, Vox insisted all the other heroes aboard the Battledome would be able to escape, but if Ratchet failed, the entire Battledome along with the rest of DreadZone Station would be blown up into a trillion pieces. Ratchet exclaimed that was insane, but Vox corrected him, claiming it wasn't insane because he wasn't on the DreadZone Station, as he was monitoring Team Darkstar's progress from a remote location. Ratchet inquired about the thousands of fans within the Battledome, asking if Vox planned on killing them too. Vox responded he wasn't, insisting Ratchet would if he didn't deactivate the Containment Fields in time. Vox then insisted his audience was waiting for him, and he and the cameras vanished, leaving Ratchet to complete this deadly mission before time ran out.[5]

Death of a Lombax

I've been waiting a LOOOONG time for this moment! I'M going to give DreadZone fans the finale they've been waiting for! It's a little one act play I call, "Death of a Lombax" MMMWWWAAAHHH!!!.

Vox confronts Ratchet in the Battledome within a Giant Mech

Much to Vox's surprise, Ratchet with the aid of Merc and Green were able to deactivate the Containment Fields, allowing Escape Shuttles filled with heroes and DreadZone fans to escape. Nevertheless, the show wasn't over yet, and Vox and Slugha rushed back toward the DreadZone Station in a Giant Mech. While Ratchet was talking to Clank, Vox smashed into TV screen that Clank was using to talk to Ratchet, claiming their "melodrama" would cost him viewers. Vox then moved in close with his mech, claiming he'd be waiting for this moment for quite a long time, and he planned to give DreadZone fans the finale they'd been waiting for. He insisted his one act play would be known as "Death of a Lombax!" before manically laughing, and setting in motion the massive fight they were about to have.[5]

File:Vox's Giant Mech.png

"The Big Bad Guy just got bigger!"

The battle was intense as Vox deployed very sort of weaponry function, including but not limited to sending wave after wave of Kamikaze Spider Droids and dozens of Redigitized DreadZone gladiators. As the Battle went on in the Battledome, the Giant Mech got bigger to make Ratchet's battle even more difficult. Nevertheless, after continued awhile, Ratchet sent the Giant Mech along with Vox and Slugha to the ground of the Battledome.[5]

Death of a Salesman

It'll be the best ratings *cough* I've ever had!

Gleeman Vox to Ratchet., DL

Although Vox and his pet had managed to survive the destruction of the Giant Mech, his defeat had made Vox heavily crippled, unable to get up and breath properly, causing him to wheeze and cough.[5]

Ratchet approached the salesman, claiming Vox's game was over, but Vox grabbed a nearby remote, insisting it wasn't time yet, but the end would come soon. With that, Vox pressed a button on the remote and a self-destruct system was immediately reactivated. The DreadZone Station's speakers warned everyone that the station would blow up in a mere 60 seconds. Vox informed Ratchet that all the Escape Shuttles had fled the station, and Ratchet would die on the DreadZone Station before the eyes of DreadZone fans across the universe. Even in death, Vox would be able to exact his revenge on Ratchet and get the highest ratings he always wanted. Ratchet insisted that while he might not be able to escape the DreadZone Station alive, he would know his actions allowed many heroes to escape the station. Vox scoffed at Ratchet's …"pathetic idealism…", and told him to enjoy it now, because he was going to die anyway.[5]

Much to the surprise of Vox, Ratchet, Merc, Green and Slugha, an Escape Shuttle arrived. The doors of the Escape Shuttle opened, with Clank on the other end of the door and insisting Ratchet got aboard before the station went nova. Ratchet quickly grabbed Slugha, and entered the Escape Shuttle along with Merc and Green, leaving Vox behind. Vox screamed in anger as his pet and his chance of revenge were taken aboard the Escape Shuttle. As Vox watched the Escape Shuttle flee the station, the station's computer warned the station was about to explode in five seconds, causing Vox to remember he was going to die. After the timer ran out, Vox was blown to bits as the six gigatons of nitroglycerin blasted the entire DreadZone Station into large chunks.[5]

Legacy

Media magnate Gleeman Vox ran a crooked battle arena known as DreadZone for years before it was shut down by Ratchet and Clank. The void left by the shows cancellation was replaced with a continuous of Lance and Janice episode 10,972 titled "I Like You, But I Don't Like-You, Like-You."

Vox statue ItN

Vox's statue in the Intergalactic Museum of History

Vox's robotic arm was later seen floating around the remains of the DreadZone Station, having remained generally intact following the explosion.[5]

Despite his death, several companies founded by Vox remained intact, such as the Vox Network, which continued to run Lance and Janice; in fact, one continuous loop of a Lance and Janice episode 10,972 titled I Like You, But I Don't Like-You, Like-You filled the void left by DreadZone's cancellation. Vox Holo-Films also lived on as well, which later produced My Blaster Runs Hot.

Years later, a statue of Gleeman Vox was added into the Hall of Villainy of the Intergalactic Museum of History in Meridian City on planet Igliak, as the result of his crimes.

Personality

You're not just corrupt, you're stupid!

Despite being seemingly affable on television, Gleeman Vox was despicable enough to force numerous heroes to enter the Battledome where they would likely face their inevitable deaths. He ultimately did not care about his fans, as he planned on killing them along with Ratchet and the heroes at the Battledome as part of a grand finale for his show.
