Torren IV 2

Torren IV was a planet in the Polaris Galaxy.[1] It was once the home of the Fongoids, who had inhabited a city in the Molonoth Fields. This was also where Ratchet and Alister Azimuth met for the first time. Like Lumos, it is a large, arid, desert planet. After the Fongoids left thousands of years ago, the Vullards mined for resources in the Fongoid Factory. This planet was a big base for Vullard operations. The planet was dotted with junk after the Fongoids left which of course gave the Vullards a big reason to settle there.

Torren IV was located in the Vela Sector.[2]

After being banished by the Lombaxes, Alister Azimuth fled here and used this as a small base and place of refuge.[3] It was there that Ratchet and Alister met for the first time and Ratchet learned of the Great Clock and how to use hoverboots.

Clank would later fix the time anamolies on the planet through the Torren IV Planet Room in the Great Clock.

Rift Apart[]

In Rift Apart, an alternative dimensional version appears in Rivet's dimension, which her and Clank go to in order to seek help from the Fixer. Like it's counterpart it is a very dry desert environmental planet which is also inhabited by Vullards who collect junk.

Geography[]

Monoloth Fields was the primary location, home to the Vullard Junkyard, The Hollow, and Volgram Pass.

There was a Fongoid factory within the Monoloth Fields. The factory was used by the Vullards to mine. Furthermore, a village was located there, which contained a junkyard. Another type of life form on the plains were small junk robots that lay piled up until a traveler passed by for them to attack. Old Fongoid towers covered the landscape and the only big geographical feature of the fields was a big volcano. The rest was plains dotted with rocks and Vullard ships flying in or out to cargo junk.

The Hollow was a geographical feature in the Monoloth Fields. It was guarded by the Guardian, a huge metal robot. It was considered a dangerous place, but ousted by Volgram Pass. It was located in Torren IV. There was a Vullard settlement there. Vullards used this space to melt down junk in the core of an active volcano. The work of junk being melted down was efficient, but not the rest of the settlement. There were often Battery Bot revolts which the Vullards called code 11-13. It was built underneath an old Fongoid settlement that resembled gettohs in South America. They chose that location because junk could be collected from the old tin buildings and reforged. Machinery was noisy but Vullards could be seen relaxing at a Vullard bar or standing around watching the machinery. Ratchet had to help them in order to get to Volgram Pass.

The Vullards did like to keep operation away from the prying eyes of the galactic authorities. This was because some junk they worked with could be valuable or an illegal weapon.

Toron IV

Ratchet inside the Fongoid factory

The Fongoid factory was a factory within the Monoloth Fields. The area was the Hollow and had been altered by the Vullards to suit their purposes. It was converted from something unknown into a junk melting plant. A big hole was carved into the side of the volcano in which the factory was in.This was used for ships picking up shipments. Ratchet entered here in search of Alister Azimuth. It was guarded by a giant pre-Fongoid machine, much like the one Azumith lived in, although Ratchet was able to quickly get past it. The area was home to the Fongoids although they left Torren IV. It was then occupied by Vullards who were mining in the factory.
