Agorian Battleplex

The Agorian Battleplex from space

The Agorian Battleplex was an Agorian space station located within the Korthos Sector. It housed the Battleplex Arena, which is where live gladiatorial combat and other blood sports were watched by Agorian audiences. When Qwark was captured by the Agorians, Ratchet had to rescue Qwark, while also trying to get the Nefarious Security Card, which allowed him to gain access to the Tombli Security Towers at the Tombli Outpost on Planet Zanifar.

At the Battleplex lobby, there was a video game arcade where Ratchet could play the mini-game, My Blaster Runs Hot, which could be played with one or two players. There were also two GrummelNet Industries weapon vendors and one GrummelNet armor vendor.

In Ratchet & Clank: Issue 5: Multiple Organisms, Ratchet argued with General Glahm whether Glahm should destroy Artemis Zogg's ship or not. While arguing, General Glahm mentioned Artemis Zogg destroyed their Battleplex.

The arena[]

The arena held four tournaments with five battles each, each netting you an exclusive weapon at the end of the tournament. Each tournament must be completed in order, but only the Bronze Cup is required to beat the game. There were two championships; the first one is unlocked when jumping to the Korthos Sector, and the second one is unlocked after completing the gold cup, leaving the Battleplex, then returning.

Note: Jumping directly to the Battleplex from a different sector will not unlock the second championship. Ratchet must first enter the Korthos Sector, as it will trigger the mission "Return to the Battleplex."

Trivia[]

  • The Agorians claimed that no non-Agorian has ever won their championship. However, Ratchet's father, Kaden won the Gold Cup when he was 15 to 16 years old by stealing his grandfather's ID to enter. Kaden and his friend Alister had stolen a Trillium harvester belonging to Alister's father and used it to travel out to the Battleplex. Kaden was victorious and won the gold cup, which the Agorians denied. He was then grounded for a month for his actions.[2] Ratchet also won the Bronze Cup to rescue Qwark. Ratchet was congratulated on his victory as the first non-Agorian champion, unlike his father.
  • When the Agorians realized their Battleplex broke the Impenetrable Code of Agorian Honor, they rewrote their by-laws to allow it.
  • The statues of Agorian warriors Ivan the Beautiful,Percy the Incongruous, Osiris the Malevolent and Rogan the Mediocre in the Battleplex Lobby could be interacted with when walking up to them and pressing the triangle button, allowing you to read descriptions about them.
