It can be purchased upon reaching Obani Gemini for 175,000 bolts. With use, it can be upgraded to the Multi-Disc Gun, which can split into up to sixteen discs. In challenge mode, it can be upgraded to the Mega Multi-Disc Gun for 500,000 bolts.
The Disc Blade Gun is a red and dark grey weapon with a left-hand grip which has a single slot from which discs are fired. The Multi-Disc Gun has a barrel with two slots instead.
The Disc Blade Gun is at first not particularly outstanding, as it is not until it upgrades twice that the discs it launches will ricochet off walls and enemies. Once it does so, it becomes truly useful and serves especially well against large groups of enemies or single powerful ones, like bosses. It has a good rate of fire, which is nicely coupled with auto-homing discs. In turn, its damage output is less than spectacular when it comes to each individual hit by each disc, however each disc will hit for multiple times and thus the damage adds up over time.
The Multi-Disc Launcher is especially illustrative of this, as each of its discs split up upon hitting an enemy, up to sixteen discs at a time, and thus ensuring a large crowd of discs hitting enemies while you might opt to pound them with other weapons to increase the damage output.
Unlike the Chopper and other weapons, V1 and V2 discs did not ricochet off enemies, they would rather explode on them.
