These are challenges available to Ratchet in the Control Level of the DreadZone Station's Battledome in Deadlocked. The challenges come directly after the Ghost Station and are the 'point of no return', as they start the game's final challenges, at the end of which challenge mode is unlocked.

Challenges[]

Destroy the East Generator[]

The first three challenges are rather linear ordeal; you are forced to fight your way through various corridors and passages to reach the target area and blow it up within ten minutes. In the first challenge you primarily face DZ Annihilators, along with a few Blade Balls and Rhyno Swarmers. The first door you have to blow open is guarded by a Laser Back and several wall-mounted Beam Turrets, which are the only notable enemy encounters other than a 70 millimeter Stalker Turret, and a pair of Executioners followed by a pair of dropships. The Generator room contains several turrets, and is guarded by Executioners and DZ Annihilators, both of which spawn in large groups when you order your combat bots to place their explosives,

Destroy the West Generator[]

The second challenge opens with a pair of Landstalkers blocking the first passage, whereas the second is guarded by DZ Annihilators using sniper rifles. The remainder of the path is largely the same, including several Executioners, and the Beam Turret-guarded door at the end to the Generator room. This time the room will be guarded by Laser Backs, with less turrets to rely on if are you so inclined.

Destroy the Central Core[]

The second room you enter is the first real threat in the third challenge; upon rotating the bolt crank a total of four (small) Beam Turrets spawn in all four cardinal directions. They are able to cover the entire room so take them out quickly. More Beam Turrets guard the next door as well. The Central Core room up ahead is protected by another Stalker Turret, but otherwise has no notable reinforcements other than Executioners and DZ Annihilators.

Defeat Gleeman Vox[]

Vox will open with a medium range beam attack, which you can conveniently block using the Holoshield Launcher. His only other 'attacks' at this phase of his bossfight are to create waves off kamikaze droids, which as their name implies attempt to hit you and explode, and the create holographic versions of the Rhyno Swarmer and robot zombie. All three enemies are melee only and should be no issue with something like the Napalm Mod.

At 50% HP he will move to the second arena platform and into a bigger mech. At this point he gains entirely new attacks; he can send down a small swarm of missiles and throw down cameras at your position to create shockwaves. He will also send forth a group of drones that form a connected network of beams, and will fly in a fixed position around you. The drones' beams will then close the encircled snare, forcing you to jump to dodge them on time. The only way to stop the drones is to destroy them, which thankfully does not take too long. Lastly he can also create a holographic group of two Executioners supported by a small group of Tremors.

Once Vox is finally defeated you gain the opportunity to go back in time to just before the final battle, these challenges essentially, or to start challenge mode. Challenge mode is much the same as in previous installations, including keeping all your purchases, weapons and nanotech levels, a bolt multiplier, and the opportunity to buy Mega upgrades. New is the option to also buy Alpha mods, with which you can greatly increase your experience and bolt income thanks to the XP and Jackpot Mod.
