Fort Sprocket is a location in Secret Agent Clank. It is an industrial planet in the Solana Galaxy home to the Galactic Bolt Reserve[1] (which includes the Bolt Foundry and bolt vaults), where all of the galaxy's bolts are made, as well as surrounding mine shafts. The fort's defenses are presided over by a super-computer represented called A-EYE, and protected by robot guards.

Clank visited Fort Sprocket to attempt to stop the Kingpin's plans to rob it. When he arrived, he found it had already been taken over by his doppelganger robots, with his static midges and bolt thieves already looting it.

History[]

Fort Sprocket was where Solana's bolt supply was minted and stored.[1]

Klunk, using the disguise as the Kingpin, took over the Fort using his doppelganger robots to disguise as guards.[2][3] He demanded the kidnapped Venantonio scientist build a laser designed to break into it, which the scientist completed but refused to reveal believing he would be killed if he did.[4] Klunk also filmed himself stealing from the foundry in order to potentially frame Clank.[5]

When Clank heard of this after the scientist revealed it to him, he traveled there to stop his plans, and in "Hard Currency" and "The Big Heist", successfully broke into the factory through Klunk's forces. Further inside the vault, the Head Goon knocked him out and sealed him in there, where he saw the footage framing him.[6] Clank summoned Gadgebot mk.IIs to break him out, and in "Payback's a Punch", they successfully freed him, causing A-EYE to malfunction as it was unable to block their procedure and could not locate the bolts that Klunk had stolen.[7]

The planet is volcanic and covered in magma, as seen from space. It is likely inhospitable, and no organic life are seen present. The Galactic Bolt Reserve is highly secure, and can only be accessed from beneath, through the mine shafts.[1] Said mine shafts containg numerous crystals and railways with carts, encompassing a large area underneath the Fort.

The foundry itself comprises pieces of machinery over lava surfaces, and appears to use magma in producing bolts. It connects to the bolt vault through a large elevator, which contains corridors filled with security lasers. The bolt vault is where all of the bolts produced by the foundry are stored inside immense crates before being distributed.

Fort Sprocket would have originally featured a boss battle against Steve McQueen, the Bolt Boss, a creature who contained a titanium bolt as its heart.[8] The Bolt Boss was planned to make an appearance in the final room of the Bolt Foundry but ultimately did not, though his model and animations are displayed in the High Impact Games Treehouse.
